Here is my mood board, its consists of images from other films and from still images found on Google Images. I was going to upload this post earlier however I then thought that as we were changing the entire idea and storyline I should wait and include both mood boards, the first mood board can then be proved to be a development stage. The images on the second screenshot is our present idea we are filming, there are some images on the first screenshot as well which link to our thriller. For example the low angle shots on the first screenshot is what we want to include in our film as it conveys that the character is powerful, strong and even dangerous which is what we want the audience to emotionally feel toward the character. If we were to show the killer in any of the shots it will probably be like the man in a hoodie on the mood board. This is because we want the killers face masked so the man/ woman's identity is unknown to the audience causing enigma codes like 'Who is that character?' and 'What and why is this person doing this to people?'. Another reason for masking the 'Villain' in a hoodie is because we want the crimes and characters to be of verisimilitude with reality which the audience can understand. People in hoodie's are often stereotyped for crimes, so we thought using a stereotype like a kidnapper/ killer wearing a hoodie rather than strange piece of clothing like a cloak or clown mask.
We have used images of books, diaries and pieces of texts which should give an eerie atmosphere to the end of our thriller, hopefully the audience will portray the character when he is scratching out the victims face as being deranged and a phyco which always adds atmosphere and changes the way we see the character.I used the girl on the phone for two reasons, one she is a female and two she is clearly being stalked or having a strange and scary call from an unknown person, this image was a still shot from a film called 'Jennifer's body' it is a black horror comedy, i will actually be using this film as part of my inspirations and comparing of films posts. Back to the image the character is a girl which is what we are doing to, using a female actress there should be a massive power difference as women are seen as being much weaker and more pitiful when in danger, we have also used a young teenage girl which makes them seem even more weak and innocent due to their age.Secondly we have used a shot just like this except the shot is more of a side view of the victim face which works well with the key lighting on the other side of her face. We wanted an emotion like that from our actress of fright as they know they are being watched and tracked by an unknown person.
